Apologies for having no recap blog earlier in the week and for no podcast. My travel schedule has been nuts the last couple of weeks but I am finally settled in for good. That means all football and content for the rest of the fall. So, I’ll do a quick recap at the top and then get into the games for this week.

I still can’t believe Clemson lost. Dabo is an absolute joke and their program is FINISHED. Lane let us down in a big game again. UCLA gave up 7 points to the Utah offense and didn’t cover +5. JT Daniels got knocked out of the game when Rice was up. Overall, what could have been a really good day turned into a small winning day. The story of the season has been pushing money around but grinding out small winning weeks. If we can just keep doing that then we need to find a big week to add to the unit size and avoid a big loser.

CFB YTD: 37-35-1 +2.35u

FNL- 1.5u Oregon State -2.5 vs. Utah- Hopefully, people following on Action got this line when I got this line early. I would not play it at the current number but would try to pair it with another ML like Air Force in a MLP. Utah at home is a different beast and they shut down UCLA’s offense but their offense is a joke without Cam Rising. I just can’t trust that Rising will play. Also, Oregon State is sneaky just as good at home as Utah. I think Oregon State wins this game and covers this short number but not the 4.5.

1u JMU -3 vs. South Alabama- South Alabama is a team that had a lot of hype coming into this season and has been really disappointing. JMU has played a lot of tight games and just keeps finding ways to win. Their offense is starting to click and their front 7 is legit. I think they are the flat-out better team and should have a great atmosphere at home for this game.

1u USC/Colorado o71.5- I don’t see how Colorado gets a stop- just like last week against Oregon. However this time I think Colorado will be able to score themselves. Them putting up points and keeping it closer will also help us avoid a situation like Oregon last week who took their foot off the gas. I’m going with a score prediction of 52-28.

1u Kentucky -2.5 vs. Florida- Kentucky covered again for me last week but for some reason, people still don’t think they are good. This is a great spot to get a short line on Kentucky who have the better quarterback and better defense and are at home. Graham Mertz is playing his first SEC road game and I think it could be a really long day for him.

1u UVA/BC o54.5- UVA’s defense is still really bad. However, this kid they brought in at QB is a gunslinger. He loves to launch the deep ball and has no problem pushing the ball into tight spaces. This BC offense is also starting to play well, putting up 28 and 29 in the last two weeks against good ACC opponents in Louisville and FSU. I think these teams will both be comfortable turning it into a shootout and flying up and down the field.

1u TAMU/Texas/Mizzou MLP (-101)- Texas A&M is the main play here with Texas and Mizzou being the bigger favorites. This Arkansas team played LSU tight last week but that shouldn’t be too shocking based on recent history in that matchup. I think Texas A&M is the much better team even with Max Johnson at QB. Johnson has a ton of experience in the SEC and adds a running element that Weigman didn’t have. Texas and Mizzou are two teams I am confident in against lesser conference opponents.

1u Auburn +14.5 vs. Georgia- This is the scariest bet of the day so why not? Georgia has been uninspired and unimpressive so far this season. Their defense has not been the unstoppable force of the past and Carson Beck and Mike Bobo are not matching what Stetson and Monken did the last couple of years. This is the type of game that Hugh Freeze has won in the past and the type of game that Auburn has won at Jordan Hare in the past. Let’s see a miracle here.

1u Maryland -14 vs. Indiana- Indiana stinks. They scraped out a miracle win in OT against AKRON last week. Their offense is virtually non-existent. I don’t think they’ll be able to stop Taulia and company who are just cooking this season. Maryland should just outlast them and be able to pull away and cover this number.

1.5u LSU -2.5 @ Ole Miss- Everything is on the line here for the Tigers with my Natty future on them. I am willing to die on the hill with Brian Kelly (that story sound familiar?). I think LSU has the better offense and will be able to cruise up and down the field. I also think this is a really really tough spot for Ole Miss after the emotional road game against Bama last week where they lost another one to Saban.

1u Southern Miss +5.5 vs. Texas State- This Texas State team is awesome but I think they are overvalued at this point. I like this Southern Miss team a lot and I think Frank Gore Jr. could really get cooking against this defense.

1.5u Iowa State +20 @ Oklahoma- This is the Matt Campbell special as a big dog in the conference. I think OU is being overrated because they have been perfect ATS. Their win against SMU looks much less impressive from what we’ve seen from SMU the last couple of weeks and I don’t respect Cincy at all so that win doesn’t shock me either. Iowa State found something on offense last week and they should be tough defensively against OU.

1.5u South Carolina +12.5 @ Tennessee- Spencer Rattler put up 438 yards and 6 TDs and the Cocks put up 63 points against the Vawls last year. It’s a different ballgame in Neyland vs. at home but I still think this downfield passing offense will have a ton of success here. This Tennessee defense is really bad and the Gamecocks have no interest in running the football. They just want to launch downfield and they should be able to do so.

Joe Milton has been really bad against any defense with a pulse and his health is also a bit of a question after last week. I think there is a really good chance that South Carolina actually wins this game for the second year in a row.

My Round Robin for this week: South Carolina +365, Oregon State -184, TAMU -215, Kentucky -114, JMU -160
