Hello, friends. *extremely Jim Nance voice* I am Blakey Locks and I will be your guide this March. Every round I am going to traverse you through the trials and tribulations of betting your mortgage on 18-year-olds playing basketball. From Duke to Seton Hall to Gardner Webb, I will give you the knowledge necessary to conquer your bookie and feed your children. We will win together, lose together and laugh together. Let’s ride.
NCAA Tournament Record- (23-21)
Second Round- Sunday 3/24
Yesterday was a boner. After the LSU game finished the way that I did I knew I was in for a rough go of it. But the beauty of this game that we play, particularly this time of the year, is that we wake up this morning with a fresh slate of games to crush. I also have a much better feel on this board then I did yesterday. I hated a lot of it but my promise to you people was that I would pick every single game and I’m going to continue to do that. Let’s have a day.
All lines as of 12:30 PM EST via BetOnline
12:10 PM on CBS- (10) Iowa vs. (2) Tennessee (-7.5) o/u 155.5
Again, apologies for the lateness but I did get my pick out before this game so don’t call me a fraud when Iowa wins by 100.
The Pick: Iowa +7.5
2:40 PM on CBS- (9) Washington vs. (1) UNC (-11.5) o/u 150
UNC had a big time struggle against Iona in the first half on Friday, but just like UVA and Duke they dominated their opponent in the second half. Washington was a 3.5 point dog to Utah State in the first round and ended up dismantling them. Washington plays a super tough zone and Utah State couldn’t handle it. UNC sees that zone against Syracuse during ACC play though and put up over 90 points against Cuse during the regular season. I think the Heels are going to dominate today.
The Pick: UNC -11.5
5:15 PM on CBS (9) UCF vs. (1) Duke (-13.5) o/u 143.5
Tacko vs. Zion. I can’t imagine a better matchup. As you may know, I have proclaimed Tacko Fall as my king. I saw him in person on Friday and I cried the whole time. I also saw Zion in person and it was honestly insane. He looked like a grown man playing against 5 year olds. King Tacko said he would not allow Zion to posterize him and I believe him. I’m fading Duke all tournament and I’m already 1-0 doing it.
The Pick: UCF +13.5
6:10 PM on TNT (6) Buffalo vs. (3) Texas Tech (-4) o/u 146.4
Texas Tech is really good. I know Buffalo has been legit all year and gone kind of under the radar but I don’t think they’re going to be able to score the way they want to against TTU. Red Raiders advance.
The Pick: TTU -4
7:10 PM on TBS (12) Liberty vs. (4) Virginia Tech (-8.5) o/u 126.5
The good Christian boys at Liberty pulled off the upset against Mississippi State on Friday and are rewarded with a matchup against the Hokies. Tech’s best player Justin Robinson returned for the tournament and the Hokies dominated in the first round. I don’t think Liberty will be as hot as they were against Miss State who I don’t think was that good in the first place. Hokies win and cover again and we will get an awesome rematch between them and Duke.
The Pick: VA Tech -8.5
7:45 PM on TruTV (9) Oklahoma vs. (1) Virginia (-10) o/u 127
UVA had an early scare against a 16-seed and Hoos fans everywhere were ready to disappear forever. But they dominated the second half against Gardner Webb and won the second half by 100. Oklahoma meanwhile did not miss a single shot in their first-round game. That is impossible to replicate. The Hoos want blood.
The Pick: UVA -10
Bonus: UVA 1H -6
8:40 PM on TNT (11) Ohio State vs. (3) Houston (-6) o/u 132.5
This is the game I am least confident in. I don’t know what the hell is going to happen. I thought Ohio State was really bad but maybe they’re not. I thought Houston was a little overrated but maybe they’re not?? I am literally going to flip a coin and see what happens.
Coin Flip Pick: Houston -6
9:40 PM on TBS (13) UC-Irvine vs. (12) Oregon (-5) o/u 126
My Anteaters. I could never bet against them. They are my favorite team in college basketball history and I still think Oregon is fraudulent as fuck. The Anteaters are going to slap their dicks noses on the table and move on to the Sweet 16.
The Pick: UCI +5
Let’s have a day and get back to our winning ways.
