And then there were 8…

It was a great Elite Eight for us and we are all of a sudden back in winning form. Both best bets hit with UConn and Texas and we finally got the night we were looking for on Friday with a 4-0 performance. 39-28 is still very much alive and starts with a 4-0 sweep here.

Saturday

UConn (-2.5) vs. Gonzaga o/u 153.5

The Huskies keep on marching. I feel comfortable saying they have been the most impressive team in this tournament so far and the result is that they are now the betting favorites to win it all. Gonzaga has skated by to make it this far but I think the Huskies shut them down. Sanogo and the big white kid are going to give Timme a really tough time and as we saw against UCLA, Timme is the Gonzaga offense. I think the Huskies dominate the paint and take care of business here.

Pick: 2u UConn ML (-130)

FAU (+2) vs. Kansas State o/u 144.5

This one I’m going heart over head. I have believed in K State the whole way and I’m not giving up on them now. The “sharp” play is definitely on FAU and it scares me how public this play is but I believe in Nowell magic at the Garden. I think Kansas State just has a little too much offense for FAU and the Owls won’t be able to keep up in the end. Cats to the Final Four.

Pick: 1u K State ML (-125)

Sunday

Creighton (-1.5) vs. SDSU o/u 133.5

I said this about UConn, but you can make an argument that Creighton has had the most dominant performances of the tournament so far. They have quietly been on fire and cruised to this spot where they are now favorites to make the Final Four. SDSU might just have a bit of a hangover after knocking off the consensus favorite in Alabama and I think Creighton’s wings might just be too much for the Aztecs. Creighton marches on.

Pick: 1.5u Creighton -1

Miami (+4.5) vs. Texas o/u 149.5

This is the toughest pick of this round in my mind. But at the end of the day I have been all over Texas this whole tournament and I am sticking on them here. Miami has had an amazing run but I still don’t trust them defensively and I think Texas will be able to light it up here. I think the run comes to an end for the Canes here.

Pick: 1u Texas -3.5 (-118)
